I was a sonar tech. on the Mullany '66 to '68. Did 2 wespac cruises. Didn't get much sleep, fired guns all night and rearmed every day, or so it seemed. STG's worked in the ammo handling rooms under the 5'' guns.

He was one of the men that returned to San Francisco on the listing USS Mullany. My thanks to all of the men of the Mullany for their service and great courage and especially to Mr. Perry who saved my dad's life that fateful day the ship was attacked. Sincerely, Mary Lou Raspante Walker

How about those Hubbard Division Sea Cadets that sailed and painted her? I know I spent two weekends a month for nearly three years on her and wouldn't give up one of them! What a rush!

A crew member from 8/66-2/70, (SFP2). I retired after 22 years, the first 4 were the most memorable. However, the 3 sections with duty weekend stuff did get better. I would like to hear from anyone that steamed on DD528. ''30 knotts and no smoke''

My first ship. I served on the Mullany from 1960 until 1963 as an Electronic Technician. One WESTPAC cruise. None but good memories of the greatest ship that ever sailed the Pacific. Thanks for the update on where she wound up

\nRemember watching the RA-5C Vigilante crash on the USS Independence on July 20, 1965. I found out that the two men killed were: CDR Valentin George Matula, and LT Carl Eugene Gronquist.I have learned that Chief Earl E. Fithian died in January 2006
