Served on her jul64-oct65 time frame as a QM1. Remember shore bombardment missions off Vietnam and the picking up of the two pilots (bodies) as we were plane guarding and they crashed and died. A good crew and proud to have been a tincan sailor.

I was on Mullany from July 1959 to Dec 1959 and was on the Wespac cruise during that period. I was an ETSN at that time. Enjoyed the trip and loved being stuck in Yokusuka while the yardbirds retubed our boilers!

To Captain Maxwell's son(Perry). Your Dad was a tough bird. He was known as Boom Boom Maxwell. He would sit on the open bridge,cigar in mouth no hearing protection and enjoy the 5 inch guns firing.

Hi, I am trying to find any info on my fathers UDT unit 9. He served 44 to 46 in the team. He was on the BELKNAP on jan 12 when a kamikazi hit her. Dad lost alot of friends that day. Dads name was James M. Davis. He was seaman 1st class.

My dad H.C. Thompson (aka Tommy ) was stationed on the Mullany worked in Boiler Room was on the ship when it was hit and also was part of the crew to go back on afterward. Anyone have any info or pix from this time I would love to see or hear from you.

My father (Oscar W. "Dub" Johnson) served from 1944 to 1946 and was aboard at the time of the Kamikaze attack. He and I will be at the Long Beach reunion in September 2009. He would love to get together with any crew mates from his time of service.

My father, who just passed away in May 2008, Capt Daryl O. Maxwell USN (RET), was the C.O. of Mullany in 1968. It was great to see some pictures of him from that time. Thanks for such a great memory.

My uncle William Bilodeau,served on this ship durring WWII.He was onboard her when she was hit by the Kamakazies.He was an MM2.He finished the war with out any injurys only to loose his life in an automobile accident in 1955.

I was a sonar tech. on the Mullany '66 to '68. Did 2 wespac cruises. Didn't get much sleep, fired guns all night and rearmed every day, or so it seemed. STG's worked in the ammo handling rooms under the 5'' guns.
