This floating museum allows a first hand view of a World War II era Fletcher class destroyer. 8 USS NICHOLAS DD-449 was the first Fletcher class destroyer to be commissioned. This is an excellent website with lots of detail about Fletcher class ships. 9 USS ROOKS (DD 804) One of the last Fletcher class destroyers commissioned. The Rooks had the highest number of any Fletcher class ship.
